Bought a Home Depot Gift Card in Colorado on 7/14/20. Tried using it 3 weeks later and was unable to be used as the PIN number had been covered with superglue. The card was tampered with and was used in Texas 3 days after our purchase. Spoke to Loss prevention at Home Depot who told me it was a big problem and Kroger was aware. I called gift card customer service and they placed a claim. I called back and they had to replace the claim as the first one was incorrect. Came back that there was no balance on the card and they couldn't do anything, to call Home Depot. Depot told me that since the card was sold by a 3rd party (Kroger) it was their responsibility. I told Kroger up front the card had been used. Called the corporate complaint line and they put in a refund request. Called them yesterday, 3 weeks later and they said the confirmation number on the email was incorrect and they had to do it again. They then sent me back to Gift Card Tier 2 Customer Service to place a claim. Tier 2 said, "Oh, so there's no balance, you need to call Home Depot, there's nothing we can do". Back to ground zero. They obviously do not want to make things right for their customers.
