I usually shop at Walmart. This time, they didn't have what I wanted in stock so I checked with Target. The convenience was great. Also, I purchased a few items in the store during my visit and saw still other objects that I wanted to return to purchase later. I only get to Target about once a year but this trip to the store had me completely rethinking that.

I have, however, changed my mind about making Target my compare-to-Walmart alternative.

The cookware I purchased is nice but is not safe to use in the microwave. Microwave cooking is what the recipe I made the purchase for requires. However, I see now that I cannot make a return for a full refund and that I will only receive a store credit. I've not even opened the item. I've simply read the packaging and found that it will not work for me.

Only substandard stores refuse to give your money back once they have it in hand. Even Walmart allows returns for a full refund with a receipt.

Now, I see that many people have detailed their problems with Target's return policies online. Therefore, I find that I am, unfortunately, not alone in my disappointment.

I will alert social media about my experience and I will also return to shopping exclusively at Walmart. I have no desire to make another purchase at Target now so a store credit will not work for me. I will have this cookware as a permanent reminder never to return to Target again.
