I learned today that if you split your balance with a Target gift card or a Target merchandise credit, and a different credit/debit card, you will basically never get a refund back to your credit/debit card, even if the returned amount is less than what you spent on your credit/debit. They do not let you choose where the refund hits, and they do not let you put the money back on your credit/debit. So if you spend $2 with a Target merch credit (I was trying to use the card so I could toss it) and $50 on your personal credit card, everything goes on a Target merch credit. I asked to speak with the Manager and she gave some long speech about it's not her policy, it's corporate policy, as a way to get you to spend more money in the store. Basically split your transactions if you ever want your money refunded back to your credit card. It's such a garbage policy. If I charged 99% of the total on my credit card, credit exactly how I paid.. I had receipts and everything.
