I 'splurged' outside of my budget and bought myself a $5 block of Manchego cheese. I was really looking forward to enjoying it for lunch one day, thankfully I didn't intend to serve it to house guests like I normally do! My excitement was quickly depleted when i opened the package and found SEVERELY molded cheese. :( What a disappointment. Luckily, I still had the receipt. I return it to my local Aldi. The staff at the register questioned the Double Satisfaction policy and called a manager. The Manager then proceeded to tell me that they would not honor the policy because it only pertained to food items that the customer "does not like. For example, if I tried the cheese and did not like it." Well damnit, I don't like moldy cheese! And what sense would it make to replace an item that you do not like with a second like item? I quickly reminded the store manager that's not how it was handled when I had to return the moldy lunchneat I ended up with last time. Needless to say, I got my refund and a new block of Manchego. I'm very disappointed with Aldi's quality. This has happened to me twice. Is this how they drive their prices so low, by skimping on quality??? I used to highly recommend their meats and cheeses to everyone. I will be recommending to be selective now. Quite disappointed in quality AND customer service.
