I have pampers and wipes that were given to me as a gift during my baby shower. I have too many of the same sizes and wanted to exchange them along with wanting to change the wipes from scented to unscented. If I had to pay a difference that would have not been a problem however that's not the case. Kroger's return policy is up to the discretion of the Store Manager so whatever that person decides to do or not to do is up to his/her discretion. I've worked as a Retail Store Manager for over 10 years and currently hold a General Manager position. NEVER have I nor will I tell a customer they have to have receipts if the policy states that Kroger over refunds and/or exchanges with or without a receipt. Typically in retail, if a customer can not produce a receipt then the item would be returned for the market valued price. I'm pretty sure that the Store Manager may have decided not to allow my exchange due to preventing or decreasing shrink but that's not how you run a business. Exchanges without receipts should be allowed at store's market value. In my experience, if someone was trying to return stolen items then they usually have an issue with not being refunded the value that the items were "purchased" for. I am highly disappointed with Kroger right now. Very annoyed that I called the customer service number and the representative sounded as if he did not care. His sorry was not genuine at all.
