Extremely stupid Groupon process around expired credit card payment processing. I attempted to purchase tickets to a play and was served up a message that my credit card had expired. I entered updated credit card information and completed the sale. Received my voucher for the ticket I had purchased. All was well until I went to the play and was told I had double the number of tickets I had purchased. I did not receive two voucher from groupon, yet my credit card was charged twice. I contacted them the next day and was told via email that if I could get the vendor to approve it, Groupon would provide a refund for the extra charge. I contact the vendor, explain what had happened with Groupon's weird failed credit card process and they approved refund. Back to groupon armed with approval from the vendor, Groupon says no. I explain what happened, what they told me to do, what I did and why they should provide a refund. Groupon says no, I say how about a credit. Groupon says no. This is completely unaccetable -- what company tells you your credit card has expired, then charges you twice after you enter the new credit card number and then won't provide a refund. I will NEVER buy anything from Groupon again. Given all the posts about this same issue, I'm not alone.
