In-Store Purchases

Meijer's has refund and exchange policies that vary depending on the type of item purchased. General merchandise may be returned within 90 days, except alcohol, tobacco, prepaid cards, ammunition, blood glucose monitors and collector sports cards that have been opened.

Electronic media, such as music, movies or video games may be returned only if the original packaging is unopened. If defective, these items may be returned for an exchange towards the same product only. Electronics items, magazines, books and equipment powered by gas may be returned within 30 days. Items powered by gas may be subject to a restocking fee of up to $25 and other restrictions.

To obtain a refund, the customer should present the item, receipt and original method of payment used (credit card or debit card). If no receipt is presented, Meijer will attempt to locate the transaction within its systems and issue a Meijer Merchandise Return Card for the value of the item. Valid identification is required when returning an item that is not accompanied by its original receipt.

Food items may be returned for refund, provided that they were not paid for with WIC, otherwise only an exchange for the same product is allowed.

Online Purchases

Meijer.com's return policy states that most non-electronic items can be returned within 90 days after they are delivered. Any items returned must be accompanied by their original packaging and contain any accessories and manuals that came with them.

Some items are subject to a different policy. Collectibles, electronics, computer software, video games, music, movies and computers can only be returned if they are unopened or found to be defective after a QA verification. These items may be returned within 30 days.

Live wreaths and Christmas trees can only be returned within 3 days of delivery.

Refunds may take up to 14 business days to be applied. The customer will be notified by email once the refund request has been processed by Meijer.com. Credits are applied depending on the original method of payment used. If a credit card was used to pay for an order, the entire amount will be refunded to the same credit card. If a gift card was used, the purchase amount will be refunded to the same gift card. If the customer used multiple gift cards to purchase an item, the original amount taken from each card will be refunded to the same gift cards.

I Wanted An Even Exchange Of A Defective Spray Can, Instead Of Coming Out As A Mist Like It Was Supposed To It Came Out Leaking. I Paid Cash Since This Was The Only Item I Bought That Day And I Didnt Save The Reciept, Why Would I For This One Lousy Item.
Anyway... Return Desk Told Me That If There Was A Price Difference In The Last 30days I Would Have To Pay For That Difference. This Makes No Sense, Sale Or No Sale Its An Even Exchange !!!! So What If Price Went Down Or Up. Its The Very Exact Item Im Exchanging. I Want To Make A Complaint About This

Bought shoes for my bf 4 days ago. They didn't fit him. So I just tried to return them. The lady told me they were soiled and she couldn't put them back on the shelf BEFORE she even opened the box, which still looks brand new. The shoes are fine, NOT soiled. She kept laughing at me and being really rude and petty with me. Can't believe someone would abuse such a small modicum of power like that, but she suuure did! This was in Danville, IL. Will definitely try to return to a different Meijer where they honor the printed policy they show to customers.

Purchased some lightbulbs that didn't fit in my recess light fixtures. Put them in my garage and forgot about them. I finally remembered and take them back to return. We tried looking it up with my card. I never save receipts since they can always look it up. Well it had been too long. So they couldn't find it. I said I would take store credit as I was going in to shop anyways. Well they wouldn't give me store credit because the max is $15 and these bulbs were $18 each. Pretty sure I paid more than that to begin with. These are brand new never used bulbs. I don't understand the issue. So needless to say I left and went to a different store to shop. I guess Meijer doesn't get my money anymore.

Bought a scooter at one meijer and brought it to another meijer to return it (was too small). Was told I could only return it at the meijer I bought it from. I have never had that happen from any meijer stores and don't see anywhere that you have to bring things back to the store you bought from. How inconvenient that I now have to drive to the other side of town to make a return. I had intended to try to find a different scooter but will now just go elsewhere because of the inconvenience.

I bought two pairs of Dickies work pants, because fitting rooms are not open I wasn't able to try on. Got home and they didn't fit so I exchanged for a different size. Brought those hoe, they didn't fit either. Later that same day I brought back the pants with the receipt and was told my refund wouldn't be put back on my credit card but i would get 1/2 in cash and 1/2 on a store credit card. This isn't right, I had the receipt and the return happened within 24 hours. I'm calling the store tomorrow to complain to manager. The return policy is 90 day full refund with receipt. They are not abiding by their own policies

I picked up my cats food a few days ago but this Wednesday we had to put him down I have 19 cans of Friskies 5 can of FancyFeast and a 32 package of traing pads. Can I return them all for store credit

I bought my boyfriend a Braun Series 3 shaver on December 30th 2019.It was the wrong kind and we live about 25mins away so I went to return it today 2/9/20 I no longer have the receipt and the manager on duty said I couldnt return it for he did a scan to see when last one was sold which he said 30 days ago . Ok hows that my problem? I was fine with a gift card i was gonna shop. But then I was so mad i left and will not return to thier store.Policy states 90 days. LIE!!

I tried to take a defective back Pat back to the South Gate Meyer today. The clerk wouldn't take a back because I didn't have the tag. I had the receipt. But she said without the tag she couldn't tell if that was the same backpack. Ridiculous!

I recently purchased about $65.00 worth of makeup. I tried it all on at home and was satisfied with everything with the exception of a powder "Maybelline Fit Me". It was too white for my skin. I went to return or exchange it and was told that couldn't do it. I never shop at Meijer. It was my first time in years. Now I remember why! I should have know better to buy makeup there.

Didn't realize I couldn't put past purchases on my Mperks once I signed up and the cashier knew about the $10gift card coupon and didn't mention it to me. How rude! If I would have known I would get a coupon AFTER I sign up and I couldn't apply past purchases I would have waited until I signed up. JERKS

I purchased a 3 lb log of Jennie o turkey that was spoiled returned with receipt. The credited my card but it still has not shown up 2 days later. The girl at customer service said max time 24 hours the guy the next day said min 24 hours. Always something here. Highland, Indiana store.

I've been able to return opened makeup before at Meijer but the one in Indiana recently said they changed it. You can no longer return any kind of opened beauty item. Period. Kinda frustrating since most drugstores (cvs, walgreens) have easy opened makeup return policies.

I bought a cell phone @ Meijers for my wife. As she uses it very little I did notice that it was not recieving calls but could place calls. I called Meijers service which said I could bring it back. They then said I should talk with electronics. They said they would not take the cell phone back as it was in their policy not to take cell phone returns. I checked and their return policy says nothing about cell phone returns. Trac Phone says that the phone probably defective. WALMART HERE I COME!!!!

...it would arrive for pickup in the store on a certain date. What I didn't know was you were supposed to pay attention to their ... earlier. You are then given 14 days to pick up the item, afterwards it is returned. I missed it (since the date ... the problem. I asked if they could re-ship it, and they said no. Probably won't ...

I was at the Meijer store in Roseville #63. A young man working nights in Automotive and Sporting Sections, named Corey, went...it for me. He made sure it would start before he returned to the store. I have NOT seen exceptional customer service like this in a very long time. Hats off to Corey...

...this pie - and little yellow tag said $4.99. I was charged $7.99. Went to Customer Service after taking photo of... small letters under sale price of $4.99 was (meringues). I returned the pie and was credited $7.99. I believe this is deceptive advertising. Most likely customers pick up the pie... do not check their sales receipt.
