Home Goods Returns and Refunds

Home Goods Return Policy

As always, customers come first at HomeGoods. If a customer is dissatisfied with a purchase, it may be returned to HomeGoods within 30 days, along with the register receipt. Customers may ask for an exchange or a full refund. If 30 days have elapsed, or merchandise is eligible for return but is returned without a receipt, the customer may still receive store credit. HomeGoods urges customers to keep their receipts in the event that merchandise needs to be returned.

Gift receipts cannot be refunded but may be exchanged or returned for store credit. Other restrictions may apply.

Merchandise returned without a valid receipt or gift receipt must be accompanied by a valid ID such as a driver's license, state-issued photo ID card or military ID. Customer signatures may be required on all returns, with or without a receipt. Our Privacy Notice provides full details on how HomeGoods stores and uses customer information.

Return fraud and return abuse are commonplace and sometimes difficult to detect. To prevent fraudulent returns, HomeGoods has implemented a series of refund verification systems. Returns are processed and tracked to help administer HomeGoods' loss prevention program. Based on the outcome of this processing, customer returns may be limited or declined.

last week I bought a mirror from Home Goods. The size was wrong because it was labeled 22"x28" and they didn't take into account for the frame. When I got home with it home it wouldn't fit. I took it back today, less than a week later, but I didn't have my receipt, so they refused to put the purchase price back on my credit card and said they couldn't exchange it either. They called the store who confirmed that they couldn't return the price on my credit card. She asked me which cashier I used and what the price was. I felt like I'd done something wrong because she said I couldn't prove which store I bought if from. It was their policy. I threatened to contact my credit card and dispute the charge. Finally, they gave me
store credit. I will never buy there again, except to use the store credit.

Unfortunately I did not a good experience with the return and refund at Home Goods. On February 26th I and my wife did a purchase in Home Goods. On February 28th we decided returned some itens in this Home Goods: 3601 OAKWOOD BLVD HOLLYWOOD, FL 33020. Unfortunately, the refund transaction failed and the amount of U$ 150.81 was not returned in my visa credit card 6646 final. On March 1st we came back the store and I explained to the manager the problem. But he said that I should wait 3-4 days. Our situation is complicated because we returned to Brazil on March 4th. Question: Will we lose out? Because I called in my bank and the answer was: '' The refund transaction failed because PIN not digited by credit card´s user''
The number of refund receipt is bellow

I agree with all the reviews I went into the Silverdale one and took 3 blankets back and they denied me and said they weren't from there store so at first I was ok with it but whem.i.looked home goods price tags up and I only did this cause there was no name on the tag that says ho.w goods well anyways they were all from the home goods store so pretty upset about that she treated me.as.i was a bum off.the street almost

I returned an office desk chair & didn't have the receipt. I was treated like a criminal & the lady was very rude (Savannah Ga) It still had the tag attached & was perfect. She begrudgingly gave me a store credit & said now when you use this, only you can use it & you'll have to show ID, sign & now you're in our system. What? I've spent hundreds there & will never, ever, step foot in there again. It's not the first time I've been treated rudely there. Disappointed

I was just looking up your return and refund policy. I was compelled to write about my experience in Tuscaloosa, Al. I have a lot of returns and for the most part, I have encountered nothing but kindness and professionalism. 95% if the employeees are considerate. There was one supervisor that gave me a hassle because there was no sku # on the tag. I understand that could be a sign of fraud but this was an item she could easily have found in the store and compared the price. That was the only time that has happened to me. The only other thing I have encountered. Is that twice in the last 30 days they have been out of wrapping paper. Most everything they sell is breakable. I immediately thought if 2 things the manager could have done. Go next door to TJMaxx and borrow some or go buy some. Otherwise, I have nothing but good things to say about your family of Stores and will continue to shop there for a long time.

I went to Homegoods in Morton Grove, IL to return a ceramic sloth bank I had bought for my cousin's boyfriend. I shop early for Christmas gifts and I found out they broke up and no one else I know likes sloths. When I reached the cashier, Earmer, she looks at the tag and says "this is from 2018" and of course I didn't have the receipt. She huddled with the manager off to the corner and she says "we'll give you store credit and watch your returns I put you in the system". I've never had this problem at any Homegoods esp my Homegoods in Northbrook, IL. Too bad bc I'm never going back to any Homegoods, TJ Maxx or Marshalls and will put this out there & go viral. I try to shop locally to support the communities around me but will now give my $$$$$$$ to Amazon. Amazon Prime and While Foods! Free shipping. No problems with returns.

Screw home goods....never again. I went to the gig harbor store and i brought a set of sheets to return but decided not to because I couldnt find anything i liked better...so I left the store...Mind I have the receipt for my item. Well I couldnt find my friend at the car so i decide Ill check back in home goods bc her phone was dead well i had the sheets under my babys stroller in a clear bag. I am standing in the front of the store and this cashier who is a busy body and she always looks at me weird every time i go there. Well she has it out for me for no reason. She marched over and said do you want to pay for those sheets....I reply I already have and she asks for proof and I pull out the receipt. She looked so shocked i had the receipt. I told her I had never bern so mistreated at a store before.

Returned a pair of curtains rods and and i hope my money will be in my bank account soon! Is unfair paying with a debit card and wait 30 day for the refund! Should be same as quick as they took it from our bank accounts.

After reading all the comments I believe home goods is a scam, and it's happened to me a lot at this store the bad return policy so I decided not to go back. Always know if you make a fuss and don't back down to the cashier they will give you store credit or item return. Don't let them bully you

I purchased wooden freestanding shelves from Homegoods for $80. I recently went to return the item without a receipt. When they plugged the numbers it, it came up as $12 which is all they were willing to offer me in store credit. I ended up putting the extremely heavy wooden shelves back in my cart and leaving the store. I used my credit card and feel like several others that there should be something that can be done when you use your card but don't have the receipt.

Reading these I'm reluctant to even try to return an item. I too am a frequent HG shopper. Last nite a friend gave me a dachshund patterned throw. She was so excited to have found it 3 months ago that I didn't tell her I already bought it months ago. I figured I would return for store credit because I don't have receipt but I'm sure it's no longer in their system. Guess I'll sell it on eBay for double the HG cost as dachshund items are in high demand. HG could resell this in minutes as all doxie throws sell out.

When you make a purchase at this store, be very aware of the date listed on the item. I learned today that if a customer purchases an item that is no longer in the system, even if you bring it back in perfect condition the very next day, with a receipt, they will refuse to give a refund. Makes no sense at all. A ridiculous policy that that punishes loyal customers for no fault of their own.

Hello,

I purchased a bar stool styled chair from Home Goods a few months ago. It was marked down, maybe because it was the only one left. I then found a matching chair at TJMax the same night. I went to return/exchange them because didn't didn't find more espresso colored stools. TJMax told me that the stool was no longer in their system but they did a manual return for "item not found", and gave me an in store credit. I went down to the Home Goods store and they also said that the stool was no longer in their system. The tags were still in place as I did not use the chairs. The manager said that a I could not return/exchange the stool for in store credit. The manager then stated that those styles were from last year. When I knownI purchased the stool this year because I move into a new apartment and needed bar stools, So just because they may have had that style last year that was not when I purchased my stool and that may be why it was marked down. I saw those same stools in their store during the summer months also. I I feel that if TJMax and Homegoods are under the same parent company why does the return and exchange policies differ depending on who you speak to.

I ve been shopping at Homegoods for a long time and more recently we bought a new house, and we spent hundred of dollars in this store on lantana, fl. I was so disappointed and felt humiliated this Friday, bcz the manager wouldn't even consider exchanging something broken I bought for just 10 dollars. She said I should've have a receipt. It's the way she said it, like I could've have steal it. Never will go back to that store.

Good day . I went to Home Goods store located in Westbury, New York. I wanted to return two glass soap dispensers without a receipt . The purchase was made about 3-4 months ago. Both dispensers had original sales bar scan and in tact condition as purchased. The cashier simply told me they could not return it because it was not in their system. I believe that a store credit for the total amount should have been given with proper identification. I asked if they could trace the purchase with the credit card used and they said they couldn't. I feel that a reputable store as such is in need of a upgrade in their system ; maybe have a phone number affiliated with purchases made in the event the consumer no longer has the original sales receipt. I believe Burlington Coat Factory and other stores have such systems. The lost is only $26 although it's unnecessary. This lack of or better yet no care attitude is enough for me to not make any future purchases at this No Good Store

I have been a loyal customer for many years, but now have a bad taste in my mouth. I bought a office chair of which broke a leg within 60 days of ownership, but die to not having the receipt was only able to return for $69 of $199 in store credit. I was just wanting store credit to exchange. it cash . Very disappointing and as a card holder feel very upset at the level of this companies principles and policy.

I'm a decorator who uses Home Goods daily. Until recently I have been very happy with all of my purchases and if I had any return I always had my receipt my tickets and never had a problem until today when I returned for chairs for a client that had white chalk numbers up and down the legs that were hidden by tape when I purchase the chairs I was 10 days late from the 30-day return policy and had to eat $550 myself they would not put it back on my client's credit card, even though they currently have an extended money back return policy at the moment be store manager off of Brodie in South Austin was rude and polite and so were two other cashiers at that store I have never been treated so horribly for returning items that obviously were defective

I Do A Lot Of Business With Home Goods Stores Through Out,today I Had A Return Of A Pillow, Upon Waiting For The Cashier To End Her Personal Phone Call, She Told Me That The Pillow Was Dirty And Called The Store Manager To The Front During Her Call She Told Her The Pillow Was Filty! And When She Got Off The Phone She Mumbled I Ask Her What Did She Say? She Told Me She Didnt Know If They Would Refund My Money. This Item Was Purchased On August The 8th. The Manager Then Said The Pillow Is Dirty Just File It!
My Money Was Returned But I Ask Her Are You This Rude To All Your Customers??????
I Had My Receipt And The Pillow Had Lint On It From Trying It On My Bed. The Cashier Went On To Say Is Your Bed This Filty?
I Have Never Be So Insulted In My Life.
This Happened At Home Goods Knoxville Tn

I was very disappointed with the no receipt return policy. My college daughter and I were shopping for new apartment. We bought lots of items. 2 weeks later I had to return the rug. My daughter did not keep that receipt. The value of the rug wash $24.99 and they wanted to give me $2.99. I ended keeping the receipt.

I just purchase a TV stand at homes good today at the Clovis, California store. The manager told me that she'll get someone to help load. She called one of the older lady to help load. As she was trying to load up the TV stand into the car, I notice she couldn't and I knew she was gonna ask for help. So she did, she asked my boyfriend to help her, so he did. As they load, she thanked him for helping her and told us that no customers would help them left and load. As she was speaking, of course, I heard a drop in the back of the car. I went and checked and I asked if they were OK and if the TV stand was good. The lady Jennifer said it was fine, but as I check, the stand was broken. I then told her that I no longer wanted the TV stand now that it's cracked and broken. Jennifer the said to me that there's nothing she can do about it since they don't have a loading service and that it was my boyfriend who broke the TV stand because it was on his end. It click to me why she said no customers would help them load. So I asked for a full refund since I bought it for $541.11 to be exact. Jennifer told me that she can't do that and that she'll go tell her manager. Of course, 15 minutes later the manager came out and asked us if we had any questions. I explained to her what happened and she said there is nothing she can do since the item had already been purchase and that it wasn't damaged in the store but we damaged it because that's what Jennifer had told her. I told her it's not right and that there is a 30 day policy and it hasn't even been 30 min since the purchase and the item is ruined. The manager told me I can't get a refund and that I would need to talk to the store manager name Stacie, and that she won't be there until Saturday. So I told her to unload the item and leave it in the store until Saturday. She wrote on a pink slip that "customer damage the item in the parking lot." So I argue with her about that and she said, "will, you did broke it, it was on your husband end." Oh yeah, I was furious and believe me, I have a temper with people like that, who is rude. I just told her that I'll be back Saturday, and with her attitude, she just said "bye" in a rude way. I've never had this bad of a service before, I've always loved homes good, this is by far the worst customer service with them. I guess I'll have to wait for Saturday to come and see what Stacie has to say about it.

I just had a bad experience with the Huntington Beach, CA, store on Edinger. They refused to accept an unused item for return (store credit) because I did not have the receipt. However the price tag was still affixed and marked 12/15. It is now 01/16. That's less than a month. Home Goods return policy is getting increasingly strict while other retailers are loosening guidelines and have more trust in their customers. I'm losing interest in shopping at Home Goods at this point. Many of the Home Goods stores are typically in disheveled condition as well. The return policy is really all over the map and just depends on the cashier's mood. No thanks.

I shop at Homegoods at least twice a week in Secaucus, NJ. I have never come across a manager or cashier who was disrespectful. I was a victim of Super Storm Sandy and i was purchasing items for my home for once it was completed. When it actually was completed and I was moving items in I had decided I did not want some items anymore. Secaucus took them back with receipts that were much older then 30 days. I think this is the best Homegoods around.

Homegoods return policy is not clear and very misleading and they don't seem to care so I don't care to shop there any longer.

I have been shopping at Home Goods for many years and never knew they have a 30 day return policy. It is not stated on the receipt or anywhere in the store where customers can see it. I even asked my family and friends who all shop there as well and no one had any clue about it. I found out the hard way when I went to return a few things recently and don't think it's fair at all. I had my receipt and it was only 41 days since the purchase and the items weren't damaged or used. I don't make a habit of returning things but am redecorating my house and wasn't sure what was going to look right until I had it all put together so I purchased two different lamp sets but decided that neither of them were going to work with the rest of the decor. When I said something to the people working there they even agreed with me that they should be much more clear about the policy BEFORE the purchase is made. I spent so much money there and am now stuck with hundreds of dollars in a store credit. A store credit that I don't plan on using now that I will no longer be shopping there. I think they intentionally keep the information from people so they are forced to spend the store credit and dish out even more of their hard earned cash all because they were never informed of the 30 day limit from the start.

I have been shopping at Home Goods for many years. I noticed that after the 30 days, the price of their products are discounted. I purchased a set of flatware at one location for a discounted price of $40.00. I went to another location and they had the very same item, on the floor dated 0314... and purchased 0504 and the store manager would not allow me the discount. With the receipt, am I able to get the discounted price?
